IFAC MMM 2016 features the Future Perspectives Sessions, where renown experts from industry present their most recent solutions and their perspective on future challenges in control, optimization, and automation in mining, mineral, and metal processing. Hot topics like digitalization, control networks, big data, smart production strategies, new maintenance concepts, automation in the context of Industrie 4.0, advanced modeling, and nonlinear control are discussed and their potential to increase yield and quality as well as to save resources and energy are evaluated.
